12 laboratories are involved in the research program
The TESS research program is organized around four main scientific challenges
Members of the participating laboratories will work on these questions and are committed to training Master and PhD students from the TESS program.
The partner laboratories of EUR Tess in a few words
Centre d’Études Spatiales de la Biosphère
Contributes to the advancement of knowledge on the functioning of continental surfaces and their interactions with climate and humans, largely relying on satellite data
Centre de Formation et de Recherche sur les environnements méditerranéens
Is interested in the coastal environment, which brings him closer to the socio-economic problems linked to the uses of this environment.
Centre Européen de Recherche et de Formation Avancée en Calcul Scientifique / Climat, Environnement, Couplages et Incertitudes
Cerfacs / CECI’s research strategy is based on 2 research themes and three cross-cutting themes: Climate Variability and Change; Aviation and Environment; Coupling; Data assimilation.
Centre National de la Recherche Météorologique
The CNRM’s themes concern weather forecasting and climate change, and feed on the synergy and reciprocal enrichment between research and operational application. The CNRM also carries out research enabling Météo-France to respond to the major challenges related to Aeronautics, Defense, the Security of Property and People, etc.
Géosciences Environnement Toulouse
GET is a fundamental and applied research laboratory in Geosciences and Environmental Sciences.
The 9 themes of the laboratory constitute a continuum between the disciplines of geology (knowledge of mineral and energy resources, dynamics and history of the Internal Earth and links with the external envelopes), the disciplines of geophysical and geochemical observation of the Earth, geochemical experimentation and environmental sciences (study of the critical zone, study of contaminants and associated health risks). All of this research is based on an analytical park, experimentation and measurement in petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry and geophysics.
Institut de Recherche en Astrophysique et Planétologie
IRAP teams work on the study and understanding of the Universe and its content: the Earth as a planet, its ionized spatial environment, the sun and its planets, the stars and their planetary systems, the environment interstellar, galaxies, compact objects, the very first stars and the primordial Big Bang. This is done through observation, modeling and theory, instrumentation and laboratory experiments.
Laboratoire D’Écologie Fonctionnelle et Environnement
The research carried out by the Functional Ecology and Environment laboratory covers different aspects of the dynamics of biodiversity and the ecological and biogeochemical functioning of ecosystems in a context of global change, transcending the boundaries of levels of biological organization (from genes to metacommunities) , types of ecosystems (terrestrial, freshwater, marine, and the interfaces between these systems), and major biomes on Earth..
Observe and understand the atmosphere
The scientific activity of the Aerology Laboratory aims to observe, model and understand the dynamic and physico-chemical processes that govern the evolution of the atmosphere and the coastal ocean.
Laboratoire d’Études en Géophysique et Océanographie Spatiales
The scientific field of research and teaching of LEGOS includes oceanography and the water cycle in the broad sense, with the physics of the oceanic, hydrological, cryospheric and atmospheric components, including its coastal components on the one hand and climatic components. on the other hand, as well as marine biogeochemistry and geochemistry.
Institut de Mécanique des Fluides de Toulouse
The IMFT represents one of the strongest French or even European research and advanced training potential in the field of fluid mechanics, both by its size and by the spectrum of research themes addressed there and fields of research application they cover.
Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace
World leader in higher education in the field of aerospace engineering
ISAE-SUPAERO is a center for training through research, training in research and innovation, leading its activities to achieve a good balance between scientific excellence, academic visibility and proximity to industrial purposes.
Office National d’Etudes et de Recherches Aéronautiques Toulouse
ONERA develops and guides research in the aerospace field; designs, carries out, implements the means necessary to carry out this research.
It ensures, in conjunction with the services or organizations responsible for scientific and technical research, the national and international dissemination of the results of this research, promoting their development by the aerospace industry and possibly facilitating their application in outside the aerospace industry
